What do GlobalScholar.com & Starbucks have in common?

Q: Who is 5/11, drinks too much coffee and works on Sundays?
A: Me!
Funny bones. That I am.
So, back to the backbone of this post; what does GlobalScholar.com have in common with Starbucks? Well, for starters, we’re both located in Seattle WA. Our offices are actually in Bellevue, but that’s close enough….provided the 405, 90 and 520 are not backed up!
Can’t guess? Fine, I”ll tell you. Last week, the coffee company announced that they will be offering a cup of coffee for one-dollar. This is big news as a typical Starbucks drink can leave you with half your paycheck. When I read about this move by the caffeine chain, this story felt familiar. Where had I seen a similar promotion? And then it hit me; on this very blog!
Several weeks ago, I blogged about a $1 promotion that GlobalScholar.com is running. Coincidence? Probably. Still uncanny. Do you know what this means? That for $2, you can get a cup of coffee from Starbucks AND a tutoring session from GlobalScholar.com. And who said $2 couldn’t go far in this day and age?
Btw, this promotion has got me thinking. Perhaps GlobalScholar.com should enhance the promotion in accordance with Starbucks; $1 for an hour of tutoring PLUS refills? Kal, what do you think???
