About: Kim
My interest in education began eight years ago, when I started my own tutoring business as a sophomore in high school. I tutored middle school students in math, Spanish and English and found it extremely rewarding to share my knowledge with others and get them excited about learning.
I am very passionate about education and believe teachers are powerful and vital members of our communities, as they are partly responsible for molding the minds of our young. I am excited about the prospect of globalizing online education, as knowledge can be exchanged between countries and continents, enriching minds for a fraction of the cost and taking the classroom to new heights. Education is mankind’s greatest tool and portal to success, and is now available anywhere there is an Internet connection.
This is my first time working in the educational sector. Previous to my employment with GlobalScholar, I worked as a journalist and editor for various independent papers and magazines within Skagit County. I graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in journalism and environmental science, as well as a certification in GIS. In my free time I enjoy hiking, rock climbing, nature photography and decorative and fine art.
