Hotel lobby pianist and trained college piano performance major says "Let's try piano lessons online.". David says.. I can give you the best piano lesson you've ever had. Even online that's D'Answer..
I am a credentialed public high school teacher with over twenty years experience in teaching. I have also led several teacher training programs. My number one talent is being able to take difficult concepts and reduce them to their essence and then to verbalize that essence. I have also been a pianist for over thirty years, most often performing in hotel lobbies. Most notably the Los Angeles Biltmore Hotel and the Pasadena Westin. I have a Bachelor's in Science degree from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. My major field of study was Natural Resources Management. This major is a combination of life and physical sciences. I have a current California Teaching Credential in Life Science. I have also earned 45 additional units of post graduate work as a piano performance major at California State University at Northridge. I also hold a flight instructor rating from the United States Hang gliding and Paragliding Association. My primary teaching experience is in Biology at the high school level. For many years, I also taught Earth Science, and Life Science in high schools. I also teach piano privately. Other subjects that I can teach include Music Theory, Hang Gliding, Orienteering(map and compass reading), and Electromagnetism. I have also been fascinated by the intersection of Energy, Economics and History over the last 10 years. So much so that I answer questions about Peak Oil, Climate Change and the general drift of our federal government. I have received many honors over twenty years of teaching, My most favorite was being selected by Dartmouth College to participate multiple times in an Engineering Concepts training program. The purpose of this program was to transfer some design and invention skills and enthusiam to high school students by giving them a problem to solve and then allowing them to solve it. This is a very exciting process for both my students and I. I have seen many of my students years later and these projects are what students remember most. I have taught 1,000's of students over twenty years, and I am excited about having an opportunity to teach in an online environment. I hope to be able to serve you in the near future.
