I taught public school full-time for a year while earning credits part-time towards an M.A. in education. I was teaching 6th grade English Language Arts at a public middle school in an impoverished neighborhood in the Bronx. Prior to that I worked part-time as a literacy tutor and Spanish teacher in the local elementary schools of my college town while studying full-time to complete my B.A. in English, which I received in 2007. I am currently working as an instructor for an arts and theater education program and tutoring privately while taking a year off from graduate school.
