For most students, standardized testing is a nightmare. However, with some substantial preparation time and a study and testing strategy that works for you, these tests can be managed. I will work closely with my clients to ensure that the key concepts on these tests are grasped. And will help each client develop the best testing strategy for them based on their knowledgebase. Note: These prep sessions are not designed to be a last minute cram strategy!
I am a graduate of Duke University with a BA in public policy, a highly quantitative degree that focused on economic, data, and statistical analysis. I was also a pre-medical student and was thoroughly immersed in upper level math, biological, and physical sciences As a research associate during my time at Duke and in my position at Avalere, I strengthened my analytical skills. I have tutored students in math and science for six years with great success. I began helping students prepare for standardized tests during my undergraduate years and found it rewarding to help students through what many of them initially reffered to as a nightmare. I have been a consultant with a writing and new media firm for two years. During this time, I have provided writing classes and coaching to professionals. I have also done a fair amount of freelance copywriting for firms in the healthcare industry to the entertainment industry and continue to do so in my spare time while I am preparing for the MCAT and applying to medical school.
