This course is designed for intermediate to advanced speakers of English as a second language. Some of the topics we'll cover include verb tenses, vocabulary, homonyms, comparative adjectives, and parts of speech.
I also am offering TOEFL tutoring. I have a large portfolio of TOEFL exercises that have proven particularly useful in the classroom. There we looked closely at the Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening exercises. I became adept at compartmentalizing, or succinctly breaking down the wide variety of skills into manageable chunks where the testee can show their mastery of each area.

Robert Thurston is a really good choice for a tutor and I highly recommend him. He taught me in many different areas of English including grammar, verb tenses, parts of speech, pronunciation, academic and business writing, story writing, analysis of literary elements, vocabulary, sentence construction, analogies, homonyms, organizational skills, the use of technology in learning and the use of mnemonics. He was knowledgeable about the subjects and very patient and kind.
