I have seventeen years of experience in standardized test preparation. In 1998 I founded my own independent test preparation company in Seattle, Sandweiss Test Prep. Over the past decade, I have helped hundreds of students to achieve their admissions objectives by improving their performance on standardized admissions exams, including the SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, and ISEE. I am also a tenured faculty member of Tacoma Community College, where I teach political science. At the college, I have been a leader in utilizing distance learning technology, and I have considerable experience teaching in an online format. I am excited by the opportunity to utilize the tools created by Global Scholar to work with students outside of the Seattle area.
Nathan Williams has been tutoring and teaching with Sandweiss Test Prep since 2005. Nathan graduated from the University of Washington in 2003 with a degree in history. He later attended graduate school at Boston University, studying film production. He is the marketing director of Sandweiss Test Prep and a working filmmaker.
Jack Caughran received training in SAT instruction at Sandweiss Test Prep, where he began working as a tutor in 2007. Jack received his bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard University in 2003. He is currently on leave from a Ph.D. program in rhetoric at the University of California, Berkeley, where he studied questions of Native American political sovereignty and cultural survival. Jack brings a holistic perspective on the admissions process from six years of experience advising and editing application essays. Jack loves teaching and is grateful for the opportunity to work with Global Scholar until his modeling career takes off.
